Mount Rigi and Stoos Ridge combined on one day

I read a pst where they suggest combining Stoos Ridge and Mount Rigi in one day. Am I correct that this would be too rushed? We are experienced hikers and can make good time. But also want to stop and experience the surroundings.

If we were to try both - what order would you do them in?

If only one - which would you pick?

We only have one night in Lucerne and hope the weather allows a good hike after arriving from Zurich plus an early start for Mt Pilatus the next day before leaving.

I appreciate the advice. I hadn’t run across the chart before so that is helpful. And I appreciate your taking the time to compare to something local.

By experienced I meant that we were fortunate to visit Patagonia last year and completed several difficult hikes including Lago de Los Tres from El Chalten. Rated 4.9 on AllTrails.

It did seem a bit ambitious to fit in both hikes. I wouldn’t have considered it if I hadn’t read the suggestion.

Sounds like you are a fan of Stoos. So we should hike there first and then decide if we want to stop at Rigi on way back to Lucerne. Maybe just take the train up and back. Or back to Lucerne and up Stanserhorn for sunset if it will be a good evening.

So many options. It is proving hard to choose.
