I am looking for accommodations in his area. I have found some in Vevey and others a bit further out. My question is about transportation around the area. Is it easy to get around by bus or train? Are there many cafes and restos on the way from Vevey to La Tour de Peliz? Is it quite safe to walk around in the area at night? Thanks so much.

There are 2 train stations in La Tour de Peliz, one close to the Vevey end and one close to Clarens (Burier).
Appears to be a fairly extensive bus system.

I have the Grand Hotel Suisse Majestic booked for my upcoming trip. The hotel is located just outside the Montreux train station. So, very convenient if using public transportation.

I stayed at the Hostellerie de Geneva in Vevey for three nights and it was great, including the dinners. I found it very convenient to points all around the lake and took the train, bus and boat.

Echo Carrie on Grand Hotel Majestic which we have stayed at before and absolutely love. Right next to train station but also easy to get a bus or walk down to the boat. Really it will be very easy to get around via public transportation.
