Hello! We’re looking for recommendations & activities/sites to visit in Montreux for a 1-day visit on 01 July 2023. We will be traveling by train through Montreux on our way to Geneva and plan to spend the day there. We fly out of Geneva the next day. Note: we are spending time in Luzern, Grindelwald and Zermatt before traveling to Montreux/Geneva.
I’m curious if hiring a guide for 3 hours in Montreux would be worth it? The service will also transport our luggage to hotel in Geneva so we won’t have to store it, or lug it around. The guide is a bit pricey and I would like to make sure we get value out of using a guide.
Also, the Montreux Jazz Festival will be going on while we are there. Should we just hang out and listen to free music and enjoy the people and then hop the train to Geneva?
- What else would be worth visiting in the area for this short time frame? A must see is Freddie Mercury statue. (we will be coming back to Switzerland!!)
