Has anyone here done the hike out to the Mönchsjoch Hut while up at Jungfrau? I'm hoping to visit Jungfrau while staying in the Bernese Oberland in mid June, but I'm curious about how others have found the difficulty of that particular hike. I'm 33 and in decent shape (plan to do a lot of hiking around Murren, in fact!), but I'm not sure what to expect regarding the altitude and snow if I hike out to Mönchsjoch.

I tried it once years ago when I was in my 40s and in decent shape, but being from Florida the altitude took a real toll. I got maybe 1/4 of the way there and retreated.

We did it in July two years ago. It wasn't hard but it was a beautiful day and the snow on the trail was soft but not too deep. There was some sliding around but it was fine. I would think it would depend on how deep the snow is in June. Gorgeous views and a nice lunch when you get there.
We didn't notice the altitude but we had been in Switzerland hiking for about a week.
