My wife and I will be within Ticino region late May, and will meet some cousins somewhere near half way to Munich. Looking for suggestions where we could have a nice lunch and perhaps a walk with views afterwards. Both parties have access to a vehicle if needed. TIA!

Perhaps the Bodensee? We loved Meersburg, Germany and a boat ride to the Isle of Mainau to walk the incredible gardens with gorgeous views and nice spots to eat along the water.
Meersburg is about a 3-3.5 hr drive from the Ticino and a little over 2.5 hr drive from Munich

Or a shorter drive for you (less than 2.5 hrs) - you could meet up in Walenstadt, Switzerland and do a boat ride on the Walensee or ride the cable car up to Flumserberg and eat at the mountain restaurant to allow for a mountain view walk.
