My wife and I purchased the 8 days Swiss Travel pass and we want to make the most of it and what it has to offer. Our trip in June is starting/ending at the Zurich airport and is divided up between Montreux, Wengen and Zermatt. Can anyone please recommend any good museums and/or boat tours that we can take advantage of the free pass that comes with the Swiss Travel pass at any of these locations? Also if you can recommend any good traditional Swiss or French restaurants in Montreux that are not hoity-toity or too fancy? Thank you so much for your help!
The full museum list is at http://www.museumspass.ch/en/. Rick's Switzerland guidebook will of course mention his favorite museums and whether they're covered by the pass. One example that is covered is Chateau de Chillon near Montreux as well as a lake boat there. The Schilthorn lift above Muerren is only discounted 50%, but that's a nice discount on a must-see site. The Swiss National Museum in Zurich is worthwhile if you're there long enough.
Did you check our Rick's tips? 3days in Bernese Oberland tip
Defiently 3 nights in LAuterbrunnen so you can spend a day up the Jungfrau enter link description here a trip to Schilthorn, James Bond filmed at Schilthorn
There are many walks to do and Rick has much advice on the area.
You can do Zermatt in a day trip from Lauterbruunen. Montreux is worth staying overnight there, classic, scenic.
