Luzerne and Zurich places to stay

It may depend on how many nights you're staying, but I found some interesting apartments on airbnb that are much more reasonably priced than the hotels. Some have a two or three night minimum, but it's worth checking out.

I've stayed at both and would absolutely recommend them.

We stayed at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Lucerne, about five years ago. We always request a non-smoking room. We walked to the hotel from the train station. The rooms were nice. We enjoyed eating breakfast in their café. Unfortunately, there were people who were smoking near the lobby and the smoke permeated the café. The other hotel we stayed at in Zurich, I would not recommend. Unfortunately we were quite ill with all the smoking in Zurich, Lugano, Lucerne, Bern, when we were there. There were people smoking indoors. They were even holding their babies, as they smoked. Hopefully, things have changed and they don't smoke as much. We were very overwhelmed with how much smoke there was - everywhere. Even the train stations were awful to breathe in.
