Luzern for two nights and three kids (12, 10, and 6)

Hello everyone!
Flying into Zurich june 26, for a three day trip , staying 2 nights at Luzern, last night in Zurich.
Looking through the guidebooks and internet, I was planning a trip to Mt Pilatus with the kids ages 13, 10 and 6, for luging and rope courses since it is easily accesible from Luzern homebase.
I haven't been to Switzerland since 1989 as a teen and only have vague memories of going up to an ice tunnel at the top of the Jungfrau and seeing snow/ice in July...
However, I can't decide if a long trip with the kids to Interlaken, Lauterbrunnen and up the Jungfrau from Luzern is
A: doable,
B: more worthwhile than Mt Pilatus
C: also has luge/bobsled, park amenities for kids, biking , etc
D: how exactly to get there from Luzern; by train vs bus or car(should I rent a car for the trip?)
E: Anyone have better/ other suggestions for kids travel in Central Switzerland?
Thanks a lot!
Have a great Summer.

The best day trip from Luzern is Titlis. See www.titlis.ch
This is a mountain with a small glacier at the top which you can go inside (ice cave), and also cross on top, and do kids things in the snow 12 months of the year. Strongly recommended.
Titlis (and Rigi) are the local mountains to Luzern, but they don't have snow on top in summer and are no match to Titlis.
All these places can be reached by train and connecting cable car from Luzern.
Also go on a boat trip on Vierwaldstättersee (aka lake Luzern). The far end of the lake is fjord-like and spectacular. get a train back.
Plus a few hours exploring Luzern, walls and other old bits.

That has easily used up your 2 days in Luzern.

If you only have 2 nights in Luzern, Interlaken, Lauterbrunnen and up the Jungfrau are too far, all long day trips, and you don't have any days free.

No way rent a car, go by train, it gets you to more places faster than a car. Buses are feeders to trains, not competition.
