First.... we stayed in Luzern for many days last trip so not really concerned that it is just one night.
We loved Swtizerland so much last fall that we are going back in Sept. Las time we stayed in Appenzelle, Samedan, Zermatt, Wengen, Luzern, and then Geneva one night to fly out. The plan this time is to do more of the things we didn't do last time. So while we will be in Montreux for several nights, and Wengen for 6 nights (chipping away at the thousand things we still want to do in that area) we are thinking about tacking on one night in Luzern just to visit Rigi or Titlis before heading to Zurich for our last night and flight the next day. We really enjoyed Pilatus last time so wondering about seeing Rigi or Tiltis for a day trip from Luzern.
The issue is... Which to visit this time? And... finding a nice place walking distance from the train station in Luzeern that will take booking for one single night. If you have useful in or advice on any of that I would appreciate it! Safe Travels!

Will you be purchasing the Swiss Travel Pass? If so, check to see if the excursion to Mt. Rigi is included. The boat ride across the lake and the cog wheel train to the top of Mt. Rigi was included when we were in Switzerland. I can't speak to Titlis since we didn't do it, but we felt that Rigi was spectacular. The boat ride was lovely, so that's kind of a bonus.
