Luggage in Lake Brienz area

Hello,
We have a luggage planning dilema. We are leaving the Jungfrau region on Sunday Septmeber 27 and will have all our STUFF. We are planning to be very judicious about our packing, but its going to be 3 carry on roller bags and our personal items.

We want to do a boat ride over Lake Brienz and then do the Brienzer Rothorn. And then catch the Panoramic Express to Lucerne. But can we take our bags with us on the boat? Is there a designated place for them, or do they just have to stay with us? If we can't take them on the boat, i guess we will have to store them in a luggage locker at either brienz or Interlaken OST.
Any and all suggetions are welcome. Thanks!

There are lockers at Brienz station. 8 small ones and 9 large ones. You should be able to bring luggage on boats. Seating is at tables, so just leave it there.

You can take your luggage on the boat but you have to keep it with you. There is indoor seating with tables, but outside it's just benches - first come first serve. Sitting inside at the tables is a bit pointless in my opinion, as you're not really taking in the views and the boats can be so crowded that often many people are just standing with no seats. Personally with luggage I'd just take the train to Brienz, store your luggage in the lockers, do Brienzer Rothorn and then if you have time afterwards take a short boat ride over to Giessbach or just enjoy the water from the waterfront in Brienz. There is an area where you can relax in lounge chairs or dip your feet in the water along the lake promenade right outside the train station and the views are the best from there of the whole lake. I think that would be more enjoyable than sitting on the crowded boat with all your luggage. Once you're done, retrieve your luggage and train to Luzern.

You can certainly take your luggage on the boat with you. Once you find a seat you can store it under the seat, or around you in some way. This way you can take the boat from Interlaken - Brienz. Store your luggage in Brienz to go up the Rhothorn - remember that you need seat reservations so plan for this, and then get your luggage again before going on to Luzern.

Note: I have never had to stand on the boat, I have always found somewhere to sit.

We've normally been to Brienz in mid to late September, and never had to stand on the boat on Lakes Brienz or Thun. But have occasionally had to wait to find a seat on the boat around Lake Lucerne.

And also, the walk from the Brienz boat dock to the train station lockers is about 100 yards, from the locker to the Rothorn Bahn is about 100 feet.
