Have you actually checked with the hotels to see if they will or won't?
Yes- Per their web sites. Although I haven’t called
Usually hotels will hold your luggage. If you can’t leave it at your hotel, many of the train stations in Switzerland have luggage lockers for a fee. You can check here:

Just Google “Left Luggage + city” and you’ll easily find out if the RR station or businesses nearby will store your bags.
Thank you. I’m trying to build a case for trains in lieu of a car rental and luggage handling/storage is the last roadblock so I need to nail it down. We’ve got to no carry ons (for 10 days) so that’s a win!
It feels like there would be no difference in time between a car and trains and handling bags, do you all have that experience?
Trains are usually the better bet for transportation.
What does this mean in your post? "We’ve got to no carry ons (for 10 days) so that’s a win!"
Interlaken OST and Lucerne train stations have lockers. We have used them. I don’t know about Zermatt.

This means I’ve convinced my wife no checked luggage and packing lightly is doable and makes the trip easier :). She used to be a 2+ bag traveler unless it was a weekend.
Definitely use trains. Traffic and parking is a pain and expensive. I have never run into a situation where a hotel wouldn't hold luggage, although anything is possible. But, as people have said, email your hotel in advance so you can utilize lockers at the train station if needed.

Are you saying that the websites actually say they will not hold luggage before check in?
Hard to believe- in all our years of travel- many countries, dozens of hotels- we have never come across a hotel that wouldn't hold our luggage.
If you don't want to call you can always email
You can also try Radical Storage (used to be called Bag BnB): https://radicalstorage.com/
I think I may have been misled, I’ve emailed all of them to ask. I really appreciate all the feedback and ideas.
I’d prefer to not drive a bit
