We will be heading from Zürich to St Moritz via Chur and want to spend a few hours touring the town. We will have our luggage for a nine day rail trip so I would like to leave it at the station while we walk around Chur. Is there a left luggage kiosk there?

If you scroll down on the SBB official website for Chur you’ll see information about Equipment and Lockers. It lists the dimensions and prices for the 3 types of lockers they offer.

Chur is nice enough, but if you have several hours between trains you might take the train up to Arosa, where the train goes down the middle of the street. Very scenic there, and the train ride is very scenic. At the moment and until the end of November a SEV does the last 10 minutes, but from December it will train all the way again. A hour and one minute with the rail replacement at the Arosa end, the same amount of time still after the train runs all the way through. Leaves Chur at 8 past the hour every hour...
When is your trip?
Are you waiting for the fancy all reserved all tourist named train the Bernina Express? Just so you know there are regular trains every hour without the fancy name which are very nice (with locals on board and fewer tourists) which go the same places, same scenery, even have some windows which open so you don't get the flash reflection in the panorama cars windows of the Bernina Express, no reservations needed....
