From SBB, looks like some of the train route will be via bus? How long will this trip take. Will be travelling the end of August. Is flying an option if available or would we miss too much of the scenery?

You may have seen the following additional information:
“Interrupted service between Visp and Täsch (train).
This is due to a natural hazard.
The duration of the restriction is not known.
Lines RE41 and RE42 are affected.
The line between Visp and Täsch is interrupted due to weather damage. Replacement buses run between Visp and Täsch. Travelers should allow more time as bus capacities are lower than trains.”
The extra time needed for the journey depends on how busy it is and how many people need to transfer from the train to the replacement buses. This information cannot be provided in advance.
