Lugano Day Trip with Kids

Hello, my family will be staying close to Lugano in Mid-June. We are actually staying on the Italian side of Lake Lugano. We will have a rental car. My family includes my five and seven year old boys. We love trying local foods, wines, short hikes, scenery, boat rides, and any kid-friendly activities?

What do you recommend our family see and do for a full day in Lugano? We would like to see either Monte Bre or another mountain with amazing views.

Thank you in advance.

Go for it. I too have a close friend there.

You might want to check to see if an Italian rental car needs a Swiss vingette sticker purchased. Drivers in Austria too have to purchase a vignette to drive on controlled access roads.

If you can manage to stay off of motorways in Lugano, which should be no problem as long as you are just driving to Lugano from the Italian end of the lake, you will not need a vignette.

Thank you. Is there plenty of public parking? I would like to park my car for a few hours to explore Lugano by foot and possibly boat.

Thank you all.

We would like to see either Monte San Salvatore or Monte Bré. Do you have a preference that would be more kid-friendly for a shorter hike, playgrounds, etc.?
