Will be in Lucerne from Dec 20-24 and are interested in a day trip to Lauterbrunnen Valley Dec 22 or 23. Will the area be filled with skiers? Can we wait until we get there to book train tickets from Lucerne to Interlaken or do we need reservations now. I’ve read that some of the mountain/cog trains don’t run in winter but not clear which ones. Is it realistic to train to Interlaken and then visit one or two of the mountain villages? There are bus tours from Lucerne and I’m wondering if those will fill up or if we can book when we get there if we decide not to do it on our own. Thanks in advance.
