Lucerne lodging for 8 - 4 couples

Hi,

I have been unsuccessful in finding reasonably priced lodging for 8 people (4 couples) for 3 nights in May 2019 in or around Lucerne. Any suggestions would be helpful. I have searched the internet, e-domizil, interhome, lucerne.com, etc. We will be using Lucerne as a base for day walking/hiking trips so being in the city is not a necessity but we will need to be near public transportation as we will not have vehicle. We will be purchasing the Swiss Travel Pass.
Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Not been able to find reasonably priced lodging in Switzerland? If you found reasonably priced lodging you would most certainly be in the minority. Switzerland is expensive. You won't find much of anything that's reasonably priced unless you're talking about grocery store items in the Coop or the Migros. Find the least expensive place you can live with and book it. If you don't somebody else will. Lucerne is one of the most visited cities in Europe...

Search on booking.com. Using dummy dates in May 2019, I saw a couple of very reasonably priced hotels with good ratings that had either 4 double rooms or 2 quad rooms (if two couples want to share a quad).
