Family of Four with teens traveling in July
After 4 nights in Lauterbrunnen, we have 3 nights to spend elsewhere. Should we spend 3 nights in Lucerne or 2 nights and then somewhere else for the extra night? We are flying in/out of Zurich.

At what time is your flight out of Zürich? If before 10.30 AM or so, you might want to have a final night in Zürich. Otherwise, 3 nights is OK for Luzern.

I'd stay in Lucerne for the 3 nights. There is more than enough to keep you busy there. A favorite of mine is the boat and train ride up to Mt. Rigi. The train from Lucerne will take you right inside the Zurich airport in just over an hour.

It would eat up half a day to move to another location. Luzern is worth it.

Stay in Lucerne all 3 nights if travel times allow. So much to see/do.

I agree with staying in Lucerne -- I can easily spend a week there. The train to Zurich airport runs frequently
