We are planning on taking two day trips while staying in Lucerne: Mt. Pilatus and Fortress Furigen. I'm wondering how much time each of these typically take to see and explore. We are not planning on doing both of them on the same day and will be at Fortress Furigen on a weekend.

For Pilatus, you can do a round trip. Out by boat to the far side of the mountain, up by rack railway. Then down the other side by cable car to Luzern.
