Hi everyone,
Just arrived in Lucerne last night and would love recommendations on the best places in town to find some local sweets (primarily chocolate and a bakery).
Thanks!

There are a couple of Bachmann bakeries in town, including one in the train station. Definitely try the chocolate chip bun (SCHOKOBRÖTCHEN).

Also at the train station is the chocolate shop Läderach.
I’m also a big fan of the Frey brand chocolate sold at the Migros grocery stores.
Enjoy!!
above are all good. Sit down and breathe in before clicking this info about the flowing chocolate wall at one location of the Confiserie Bachmann, on Schwanenplatz near the boat docks across the bridge

I really enjoyed Sprungli while in Switzerland, I believe they have a location in Lucern on Hertensteinstrasse. Not only their chocolates but those little macarons, especially the champagne ones, were delicious. I also liked Laderach.
Laderach offers great chocolate too!
Not right in town, but a 15 minute train ride to Root will get you to Aeschbach Chocolatier. They have a "museum" and sales area, and you can make your own bar of chocolate to take home (if it gets that far!).
I second Läderach.
You can actually buy Laderach in the US and online too. Don't underestimate bar chocolate at the Migros or Coop grocery store. Inexpensive and usually a huge selection.

True, but like the Lindt chocolate made and sold in the US, it’s just not as good. So, stock up when in Switzerland. 😊
So true, Carrie. The same for English Cadbury chocolate- grab it in the duty free store at the airport. What's sold in the US is not the same recipe.
It is the same recipe, but the ingredients are different especially for milk chocolate. Milk in Switzerland has a different taste than milk in the US.
