Lucern to Basel

We will be getting to Basel by train and need to get to the port where the Vantage ship will be docked.

Which train do we take? What stop do we get off that is closest to port? Any suggestions?

Just look it up at www.sbb.ch/en. 3 trains every hour, one of them requiring a connection, the other two direct.
The problem is that Vantage will have to tell you the docking location just before you arrive as there are at 3 different docks in Basel and the Basel Port Director will tell Vantage which one is available when their ship arrives. So just go to the main station (Basel SBB) and take a taxi.

Niessen. Basel SBB (the main station in Basel) is the one to go to. Yes, there are three docking locations in different areas of Basel "St. Johann", "Klybeck (Uferstrasse)" and "Dreiländereck". I am not sure they are assigned "on the fly", I think they are pre-booked, but Vantage will know where they are being docked.
I personally would not get a taxi, that will cost about CHF 40. I would get a tram which costs CHF 3.60 per person; but if you are going to Uferstrasse or Dreiländereck it is about a 10 minute walk from the tram stop.

Edit: I found a little map of the three locations here: http://www.vikingrivercruises.com/images/basel-ports_tcm21-9966.png
This is the norh end of the city, the city centre and Basel SBB station are all off the bottom of the map.
