Looking for suggestions of restaurants for lunch and dinner in Lucerne. Will be in Lucern for two days where we are responsible for our lunches and dinners.
Your suggestions are most appreciated. Thank you so much for your help.

One method I often use is to ask the front desk staff at my hotel for suggestions. In my experience, they've always provided good advice. Sometimes I just "wing it" and pick restaurants in whatever neighbourhood I'm in that look interesting, and that approach has always been reliable (with one or two exceptions). Most restaurants post the menu outside so I check that before making a decision on whether to go in.
I have a couple suggestions.
The Rathaus Bruerei along the river with a view of the Chapel Bridge. Swiss food and local beer.
La Bestia for pizza, located on Frankenstrasse behind the train station. Excellent pizzas. Now if you would like to have a drink with your pizza, the Franky Bar next door is the place. In fact, go in the Franky Bar, order a drink, and they will direct you to the inside entrance of La Bestia. Go there, order your pizza and tell them you are in the Franky Bar and they will bring it to you when it is ready. Franky Bar is popular with the younger crowd, but it should be fine early evening. It gets crowded late night.
Oh, and vegetarian is at Tibits inside the station.
We had a very nice lunch at the Rathaus Brauerei a few years ago- it's in a nice location at the end of the lake where it turns into a river.
Thank you so much for the suggestions!!
Highly recommend Prik Thai. It’s on the other side of the train station by the university and the lake. Friends of mine told me about it and I ended up eating there twice. Lots of delicious food for reasonable prices.
I second sam’s recommendation for La Bestia for pizza. I went there based on his recommendation and the pizza is delicious. I got takeout from the location inside the train station and then sat outside by the lake.
My favorite for sandwiches is the pretzel king (Brezelkönig). Also located inside the train station.
My sister and I are obsessed with the avocado sandwich. And I don’t even really like avocado. Of course, you can’t have a sandwich in Switzerland without first stopping at the grocery store to pick up some Zweifel paprika potato chips.

Thank you all so much. The website links are a bonus, and my husband and I cannot wait to try the Zweifel paprika potato chips!
