My husband and I are going to be hiking in the Engadine for a week in August. We've done a lot of hiking in the Swiss Alps and are in good shape, enjoy staying in mountain huts, etc. We are spending the second half of the week with two nights in Pontresina and two nights in the Tshierva mountain hut. We have 2-3 nights at the beginning of our trip to spend either in Val Bregaglia or the lower Engadine (I was thinking Guarda). Given that the main thing we want to do is hiking, which option seems better? How would you decide?
