Looking for advice on taking a train from Wengen to Paris

Hello All,

I am traveling from Wengen to Paris in early September. It appears to be pretty easy...Wengen to Interlaken Ost to Basel to Paris, about 7.5 hours travel time. My questions are:

What site should I purchase the tickets on?
Is a Swiss Travel Pass or Half Fare card worth my expense? I'll be using local trains, buses and ferries while in Wengen/Lauterbrunen/Interlaken for 4 days.

Thanks in advance for your advice and experiences.

Alan

Q1. https://www.sbb.ch/en/buying/pages/fahrplan/fahrplan.xhtml
Q2. Depends on how much other travel in Switzerland you will have. The Half Fare card only covers you as far as Basel. The HFC costs 200 CHF, so you need 400 CHF worth of tickets to break even. You might think about either a Berner Oberland Pass or a Jungfrau Travel Pass for your time in Wengen. And how are you getting to Wengen and from where to begin with?

The half fare card costs 150 chf, so the break even is 300 chf, not 400 chf.

Oops, I am just getting too used to inflation.
