"Looking for Advice on Itinerary in Switzerland" post has been pulled

It is a shame that matureandtravels took her page down which had so much good information in it, which the experienced volunteer fellow tourists took so much of their non-paid time to answer.

There was good stuff in there (and I don't mean mine although I spent an hour or two trying to help) and it is a shame that now nobody else can learn from that..

Too bad.

I am sorry to see this. I also spent quite a bit of time researching and offering advice, but to her credit she did thank me.

However the information of the two train routes to between Zurich or Luzern and Pontresina, and which one to take, would have been if interest to others who are considering the Bernina Express. And now it is gone. Sigh.

I do not understand why people delete their ( non-controversial) threads. If they are tired of getting notifications of new posts they can just turn that off, or never turn it on in the first place.

The driving from Spain to Portugal thread is still here. I know this topic has been beaten to death, and not entirely on topic to the subject of deleting entire threads, but the functionality of this forum could definitely be improved.

I suspect some do not realize that the posts benefit both the original poster and others who may search the older posts. So, they might think that once they have the replies they are looking for, the proper thing to do is delete the post. Or they might not realize those posting the replies are doing so voluntarily and are not paid RS employees. So, I wouldn't take it personally.
