Logistics in Zurich - Laundry and post office

We'll be in Zurich in about 3 weeks for a single night stay after hiking in the Berner Oberland and prior to two weeks of continued, but less active, travel. I'm thinking about shipping our hiking gear home (boots, etc.). Do post offices in Switzerland have boxes available for sale, or would I have to purchase a box elsewhere?

We'd also like to do some laundry at a self-laundromat in Zurich, but I'm not sure of the correct term in German, which is hampering my online searching. Is it a waschsalon or a wascherie, or something else?

German for a Launderette is Waschsalon, but they are not that common, as most flats (apartments) have a communal washer in the basement.

Either word works, but a Wäscherei is less likely to be self-service unless it so specifies (Selbstbedienung or sometimes Self-Service). Also try Münzwaschsalon which means coin-operated.
