Logical route for 3 cities

Next May I’m going to 4 countries with my daughter, Switzerland being one of them. Right now we are starting in Munich then going to Lucerne, then Wengen, then Zermatt, then on to Florence. Does the order of those 3 cities make sense? This is all by train, by the way. Probably stay 2 nights in each city, but then a little longer once we get to Florence.

To me that makes sense. I think it's not so bad to get from Wengen to Zermatt.

You could probably go to Wengen first and then backtrack to Lucerne as well. I don't think it would make a lot of difference either way.

But go to the Swiss Rail website, or Bahn.com, and search the connections, easy enough.

Or maybe a nice person on this forum with some spare time will do it for you🙂

If you have any extra days to travel I’d suggest you add a 3 night stay. Perhaps Switzerland.
With 2 nights with train travel for each day you’ll have one full day in each place.

The way I would do it personally is exactly how you propose- Lucerne, then Wengen (on one of 3 routes that I can think of), then Zermatt then Florence. Seems to me to be the most logical route.

Half the fun of the trip is the planning, and it sounds to me like you've planned well so far.

Thanks for the input - you can get bleary eyed looking at routes sometimes so it’s good to confirm you’re “on the right track”! Thanks for everyone’s help!
