Hello!
I am looking for a small town or area to stay in when traveling in the Interlaken area. Does anyone have any suggestions?

We enjoyed our stay on Murren last May. From there we were able to go up the Schilthorn and to the Jungfraujoch. We also enjoyed time visiting Gimmelwald, Lauterbrunnen, Wengen and Brienz. It is a lovely area!

Most of us here would choose Wengen, Mürren, or Lauterbrunnen.

We stayed in Wengen in 2017 and felt we made the right choice after visiting Interlaken, Lauterbrunnen, Murren and Grindlewald.

Interlaken is not in the alps. Why stay in Interlaken when you could do so much better by actually staying IN the alps in the villages of Murren, Wengen, Lauterbrunnen.
Interlaken is just a town between the lakes of Thun and Brienz with convenient rail connections to other places. If you come to see the splendor of the alps - then Interlaken is NOT that destination.
