Our party of 5 (my husband and I, two sons, one daughter-in-law) hopes to stay in/near Interlaken/Wilderswil May 19-23. I know this is last minute, sadly. Just about everything on Airbnb and VRBO is taken, except a few that are way over our limit of $2000. I'm wondering if there are other options I'm not aware of, such as guesthouses. Thank you.

There are two youth hostels in Interlaken. Backpacker's Villa, a bit south of the town green space, and another one next to the Interlaken Ost train station.
We don't stay in Interlaken any more, we like Brienz much better.

You might check the local tourist office site https://www.interlaken.swiss/en/planning/accommodation. Not every place lists on Airbnb or other platforms.

Since your options are limited this late, you might consider something like this listing on bnb.ch. I personally would love it, though it’s more on the rustic side, so it really depends on what you’re looking for.
I took a quick look, and it seems that three rooms in this farmhouse are available for your dates. You would share the WC, shower, and washbasin among your group (these are usually shared with other guests, but in this case, your party would be the only guests that share it).
It is in the Lütschtental - the valley leading to Grindelwald. There are a few more places listed here on this website, you will have to write to the owners to see if your dates are available.

This is just before the start of the season, so a lot of the hotels are closed.
