Lockers in train stations

I read (in Rick Steves Switzerland book) about storing bags in lockers in train stations. How big/small are those lockers? Do they have lockers that fit wheeled carry-on size luggage? In particular, the train station in Bern.

Yes, all train station lockers fit wheeled, carry-on sized luggage and there is usually also a larger size/price option for people who packed heavy.

I don't know about Bern, but Zurich Hbf has HUGE ones (for 9 chf if I remember right). Easily held all my gear, middling sized suitcase w/wheels, back pack with ski boots, computer bag.

Thank you, I was just looking at their sites :) I just hope there are some (at least one) available when we arrive since it does not look like I could reserve one ahead of time.
Thanks again!

I just used the lockers in Zurich during a daytrip and there are a good assortment of sizes. There are also several separate locations inside the station, if the one you're at is full or doesn't have the size you need, look around. Note that you will need coins to pay the tab, there are change machines but again you may need to look around for one.

Spent a lot of time in the Bern station but never noticed where the lockers were, but don't worry signage in Swiss stations is excellent. As are the dining options in the Bern station!
