Hi! The return flight we are looking at is from Lisbon to Zurich to Chicago. The connection in ZRH is 65 minutes. I’m curious if anyone has experience with a connection here as it relates to passport control and how long that process should take as we have never been. Thanks so much!

That would make me nervous. Zurich passport control has been hit or miss for me. Twice it has taken me 90+ minutes. Several times, only a few minutes.
If you need to get from Lisbon to Chicago, why not fly nonstop with TAP?

The last time we were in Zurich, passport control took nearly 75 minutes. With only a 65 minute connection, all elements of those flights would need to be timed perfectly. How willing are you to take a risk for that to occur?

Exit passport control should normally be pretty fast. And the airline is on the hook for getting you to Chicago. I assume you will be flying SWISS? They normally try very hard to make sure you make your connection, and will even drive you directly to your next flight if needed.
