Layover in Zurich

Hi,

We (2 adults) are travelling from Singapore to Oslo (1st Europe trip) and will have a layover in Zurich. We will arrive at 6.15am in Zurich (30th November 2022) and our next flight to Oslo is at 8.50pm.

Would really love to make a quick trip to Mount Titlis and back to airport in 14 hours. Is this feasible? Also, are there any websites where I can prebook round trip train tickets and mount Titlis itself? Most websites I come across only include transfers from Engelberg.

Appreciate any suggestions =)

Tatt's, we did this with zero problems and had a lot of fun, not all of it remotely legal. We were with several passengers who were on similar long layovers. No sitting around a depressing, soul-sapping airport all day!

Mountain weather can be fickle. It’s not worth the trip if the mountain is covered by clouds or fog. Do check the online webcams before heading out. When I went a few years ago the crowds built during the morning so do get an early start.

Closer to Zurich is Lucerne. Mt Pilatus is close by and one routing option would get you a nice ride on the lake.

Even closer to Zürich, you also have Rigi, which is very scenic despite the relatively modest 1,700 metres elevation.

do one of Rick's Zurich city walks, when you get to the lake you'll see mountains. Or a lake cruise.

considering what airports are like these days, you have much less time than you think
