Hello,
We are planning to spend two nights in the Lavaux region in September, and looking for input on places to stay. We are considering Grand Hotel de Lac or Trois Couronnes in Vevey. We are also considering Le Baron Tavernier in Chexbres, which seems to be a little better value. Any insight or recommendations regarding these hotels/locations would be appreciated. Thanks.

My parents loved their stay at Baron Tavernier last summer. Very good restaurant on-site, incredible views from the heart of the vineyard. Transportation is a bit less convenient than in Vevey but the local train line is nearby, and you can walk downhill to the lakeshore without too much trouble.

I stayed at the grand hotel swiss in montreux last June.
I enjoyed the area so much that I already have reservations for next June.
My trip report might give you some ideas for your the area. St. Saphorin was my favorite day trip.

On "Balso's" recommendation, we booked 3 nights at Baron Tavernier and I'm very excited. We will be there in mid-September. I think it will be spectacular! Lots of walking trails and restaurants within walking distance. We splurged and got the room with the bigger terrace. Our "flop" night upon arrival will be in Vevey. Then we are BO bound! Thank you Balso for suggesting the Baron!!
