Lauterbrunnen>Wengen $10, and Lauterbrunnen>Murren $16?

Just wanted to confirm that I have the correct ticket prices for this year summer.

We'll be in the area for 2 nights, and am still looking for a reasonable (I know reasonable and the BO hotel prices is a contradiction!) place preferably in Wengen. We'll be going on the Mannlichen Panorama hike, and another one in the Murren area, weather permitting.

Lauterbrunnen to Wengen is 7.20 chf one way without a half fare card. Lauterbrunnen to Mürren is 11.90 chf one way without a half fare card. Double those prices for roundtrip obviously.

Reasonable price can mean different things to different people. If you have a group sometimes chalet apartments are cheaper.

I haven't checked but those prices sound accurate. The Lauterbrunnen>Wengen trip is one short segment on the Wengernalpbahn cogwheel train, while the Lauterbrunnen>Mürren trip is two segments using a cable car and then the Bergbahn Lauterbrunnen–Mürren mountain railway (assuming you use the BLM route).

Based on my experience in the area, Wengen tends to be more on the "pricey" side compared to Mürren but I don't know how much the difference is. If you want the most reasonable rates in the area, you might consider the Valley Hostel in Lauterbrunnen. They have some double rooms, but I'd suggest booking early!

Thanks, it's good to know the tickets are a few $ less than I read somewhere.

I looked at Valley Hostel and a few other places. The deal breaker is the shared bathrooms at Valley Hostel. Other places have a 4-7 night minimum, we are staying only for 2 nights. The Bernerhof Wengen Hotel looks like a deal, but the reviews explain why that's so.

Our budget is approx $100/per person per night with priority to having 2 bathrooms (not shared) for 5 of us.

You should be able to find a chalet apartment rental for $500 or less. Look on the sites I mentioned.

My favourite hotel in that area is Hotel Oberland in Lauterbrunnen. It's just a short walk from the rail station or the BLM cable car, so it's easy to get to either side of the valley. I'm not sure what the prices are this year.

After you look at accommodation prices in Switzerland, you’ll recognize there are some great bargains for chalet and apartment rentals posted on the websites of the local tourist offices for Murren, Lauterbrunnen , Wengen and other Berner Oberland towns.
The rentals mostly are advertised directly by the owners who don’t want to pay 20% commissions to sites such as Booking.com, VRBO, HomeAway, etc. , so, they cut the middleman out of the equation and offer great prices. The prices are sometimes even greater than 20% less than what you might expect. Coupled with the savings on meals ( particularly in Switzerland ) which having a kitchen offers— these “Holiday Home” rentals can really save travelers a lot of cash.
And there’s a Co-op grocery store smack dab in the middle of Muerren which makes supplying a kitchen for a week a walk in the park.

Look for “ Ferienwohnung” or Holiday Apartments.

Cheers!

If you're worrying about $6, Switzerland is absolutely the wrong place for you! It's amazing but very expensive.
