Lauterbrunnen to Jungfraujoch , return via Grindelwald

Hello, We (2 adults) will be travelling to Lauterbrunnen in the 1st week of June for 2 days.
We will be getting a hotel in Lauterbrunnen. The reasons to do this
1- I am travelling with a slightly older person and don't want to go to hostels, so a hotel in Lauterbrunnen seemed like our best bet.
2- In case of any weather issues in Jungfraujoch, we wanted to go visit Murren/ Schilthorn/ Trummelbach falls instead.

My plan is to go from Lauterbrunnen -> Kleine Scheidegg -> Junfraujoch (all trains).
Then spend some time in Jungfraujoch.
Then return from Jungraujoch -> Eigergletscher -> Grindelwald (Eiger express) -> Mannlichen (gondola) -> Wengen (cable car) -> Lauterbrunnen (cog wheel train).
I understand the rides to Mannlichen, Wengen and Lauterbrunnen during the return would have to be booked separately.

Option 1 - The official website (http://jungfrau.ch) doesn't seem to have this combination ticket (Lauterbrunnen -> Junfraujoch -> Grindelwald) and when I contacted them, they suggested to book in at the train station and just to reserve the seats online in advance.
Seems like a good idea in case the weather turns out not to be good in which case the tickets are not going to be useful.

Option 2 - There does seem to be this site that gives me the train/ Eiger express tickets from Wengen/ Grindelwald -> Jungfraujoch -> Wengen/ Grindelwald - https://www.swissrailways.com/en/buy-jungfraujoch-ticket
I would be able to get from Lauterbrunnen to Wengen , take the train to Jungfraujoch, then return via Eiger express to Grindelwald.

Can anyone please help with recommendations, on which one seems like a better idea, or if there are any other suggestions?
This is our first travel, any input is welcome!
Thank you in advance.

The only thing you have to book in advance, if you so choose, is seat reservations for the train from Eigergletcher to Jungfrauoch and back. You can buy tickets on site. Everything else is just pay as you go. If you have a Berner Oberland Pass, you just board and go.

I don’t think you’ll really need to reserve in June - it’s not high season and you’ll get a seat just fine so just book upon arriving at the station. If you need help with your tickets go to the ticket counter in Lauterbrunnen, tell them your route and they’ll help you. They all speak English and will be very helpful to you.

Thank you , I don't have a Bernard pass but do have Eurail due to the duration of stay in Switzerland , it seems cheaper.
I will book the seat reservations a few days in advance and book the actual tickets at the train station when I get there.
Thank you all for your help !

Make sure the weather will be good before buying a seat reservation. Its not worth the 150 CHF or so to go when its socked in at the Jungfraujoch.

Can't most or all of this itinerary be done on a Top of Europe pass? Maybe the shortest of those is too long?

I like your plan! Weather flexibility is smart.

Note that the (super nice) gondola terminal from Grindelwald to Mannlichen is a bit if a walk from Grindelwald center. Slightly downhill. You can use public transportation to get there if it's too far by foot.

Note too that your end of day lifts do close in the early evening. Check those times! From GW you can take the train back no problem, but don't get stuck at Mannlichen on top of the mountain - it's a long walk down.

Lastly, if you have time, the climbers' graves at GW are beautiful, beautifully set, and unique. Well worth a look and snapping some outstanding photos.

That is a very expensive day unless you have a Berner Oberland Pass or Half Fare Card.

Prices I see on SBB:

Lauterbrunnen to Jungfraujoch 106 CHF

JFJ down to Grindelwald bus Eiger Express. 100 CHF

Grindelwald to Mannlichen via Gondola 34 CHF

Mannlichen back to Lauterbrunnun with cable car and train. 36 CHF

Total 276 CHF

Half Fare Card makes that 138

With BO pass you would pay only from Kleine Scheidig to JFJ and down to Eigergletscher. I think there is a special price of 99 CHF for the eighth the BO Pass.

Eurail Pass gives 25% off of that 276, so it is that makes it 207 CHF.
Lowest price way would be round trip from Lauterbrunnen. 212 CHF full fare, and with the Eurail discount, 159 CHF.

I think with Eurail, the round trip plus the cable cars from Grindelwald to Mannlichen to Wengen all come up to approx 220 CHF (all tickets have a 25% off with Eurail).

Actually, the Maennlich-Wengen cable car gives a 50% discount with the Eurail Pass, but the Grindelwald-Maennlichen gondola says nothing about Eurail discount. So I get 210 CHF. It is expensive regardless.
