Lauterbrunnen to Geneva

After spending 4 nights in the Lauterbrunnen Valley, we will be heading down to Geneva for a one-night stay before we fly back to the States. What sites should we see on the way? Should we head straight to Geneva and spend our day there or stop somewhere else along the way? Our flight isn't super early, so we are also open to spending the night elsewhere. Let me know what you think.

We've done this route in the past for a flight out of Geneva. We stayed near the waterfront in Geneva and enjoyed walking along the promenade looking at sailboats, etc. It's a pretty view. We didn't do much else, so I wouldn't say Geneva justifies a special stop, but if you stay along the water it wasn't a total waste.

That being said, this summer we're flying out of Geneva again and are staying in a small village outside Lausanne that has a train stop and is near a boat dock, as there is a boat on the lake that makes multiple stops, which we thought would be a fun way to explore the area. I've also heard decent things about Montreux. The other spot we looked into that looks so picturesque and gives a French/Swiss vibe is the medieval village of Yvoire.
