Lauterbrunnen to Engelberg

Hi,

Couls you please kindly advise on below,

We would like to take train from Lauterbrunnen to Engelberg in the afternoon. But we would like to take golden pass line between Interlaken and Lucerne.

How to book ticket for whole journey? Or we have to book separately Lauterbrunnen-Interlaken-Lucerne-Engelberg.

Is it good to book in advance or on the day of journey?

We are two adults and two kids.

Many thanks for help.

Hiren

Since there are no reservations needed (very rare in Switzerland), you just buy the ticket at the station. The route you want is the quickest logical route.
If can commit to a nonrefundable ticket and follow the exact itinerary on the ticket, you may be able to get a discounted Supersaver ticket at:
https://www.sbb.ch/ticketshop/b2c/adw.do?sprache=en&artikelnummer=4004&WT.ac=sparbillette-bild-en . These can only be bought within 30 days of your planned departure.
Otherwise, prices don't change, so there is no advantage to buying ahead.

Yes, and I'll also add that the Swiss rail ticket agents speak good English. Just tell them what you want and they will give you the best route and ticket, sometimes even suggesting alternatives and printing out transfer times if you ask. I've found every one of them to be helpful.

Thank you both, based on your advise I have decided not to book Lauterbrunnen-lucerne ticket in advance. I will check with the station on day of the journey.
