Lauterbrunnen or Murren in Late April

Hello,
I will be in Switzerland the last week in April. I really want to go hiking in the Swiss Alps, but I'm not sure where I should stay. It looks like Murren may still have snow, and even if they don't, that the trails will be too muddy. Is Lauterbrunnen low enough in elevation that there will be good hiking?
Any thoughts or alternatives would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Sadly no one can predict the weather that far in advance.

Late April should... should be beautiful in the low lands including Lauterbrunnen. Last year was pretty nice. Some days in the 70’s. But who knows? It could be great, or it could be cold and rainy the entire time.

Plenty of walks/hikes down low. Plus you could possibly do hikes up to murren, wengen or gimmelwald if the trails aren’t a mess and you want some cardio.

HeyItsPhil, thanks for the quick reply. I live in the rainy NW, so I'm familiar with not being able to predict the weather. ;-)
Your answer was very helpful, thank you!

Murren to the valley floor is easily accessible by gondola in about 10 minutes via the Schilthornbahn or a bit longer via the alternate route.

I’d probably give more consideration to the amount of daylight you’ll have. Probably a bit more sunshine on top of the mountains as opposed to the valley floor which could be shrouded in shadow early in the afternoon.
