The Lauterbrunnen route to Mürren via Grütschalp will be closed for upgrades for quite a few months in summer and autumn .
The exact closures dates are:
13 April to 10 July 2026
October 26 to November 6, 2026
So if you are planning on going to Mürren or the Schilthorn you have to use the bus from Lauterbrunnen to Stechelberg (end of the valley) and catch the gondola up and back both ways instead of the recommended loop via Grütschalp first.
This will definitely increase the wait times for the cable cars from Stechelburg. On the positive side, there will probably be fewer tourists in Murren at this time.
