Lauterbrunnen Itinerary Advice

We are looking in possibly spending 3 nights in Lauterbrunnen area. We will be coming from Locarno and then departing to Interlaken area afterwards so accounting for travel time. Is that too long?

I was also exploring options of staying in Murren or Grindenwald since Lauterbrunnen accommodations seem to be scarce and very expensive (family of 6). Is Wengen a good option as well? I did hear that there's a lot of construction in Murren, so thinking about Grindenwald instead. Would appreciate any advice. Thank you!

Wengen is car free and up on the mountain while Lauterbrunnen is down in the valley. Grindelwald, like Lauterbrunnen, has car traffic.

Three nights is a start, but maximize your time in the Alps. No one is ever ready to leave these majestic mountains. In addition, mountain weather is tricky, and the more days increases your chances of scenic vistas.

Reports here regarding Murren say the worst is over, as the demolition is completed. When is this? Lodging books up months in advance.

Safe travels!

Three nights is perfect because it give you two full days and parts of two others in case it rains. I have been there a few times and it seems to always rain part of at least one day I am there so I like to have multiple days to work with. It is a beautiful area!!

Lauterbrunnen is part of the Interlaken area, so "departing for Interlaken area afterwards" makes little sense. I would not pick to bases in the area. Stick to one spot and explore from there.

Make sure that wherever you choose, book accommodations well in advance. Weekends book quickly. I prefer staying in the valley as that provides the best options for reaching other areas quickly.
