Lauterbrunnen

Hello fellow Alps fans,
We will be staying in Lauterbrunnen and have a few just a few days to tour the area.

First we will have from about 4;00 the first day until bedtime and I'm guessing that will be getting settled in at our Airbnb and then walking through Lauterbrunnen and having dinner.
Second day , I thought a great day trip would be up to Interlaken and ferry to Brienz, scenic train back to Interlaken and then head back to Lauterbrunnen.

We will have another full day for a day trip.
I'm thinking that Murren would be great to get to paraglide and spend part of the day there,
--- but where to for the other 1/2 of that day?

Any suggestions on all of this would be awesome : )

Have you heard of the Schilthorn? That's what you do from Mürren. Go up there first.

I would just stay there and maybe hike up the valley or go to Wengen or Murren instead of Interlaken. You will not wan to leave Lauterbrunnen Valley.

you need to spend your first day going up higher into the valley as others have said. If you're going to Murren the 2nd day why not go up the other side of the valley the 1st day. Take the train to Wengen then the gondola up to Mannlichen and if you're up to it hike to Klein Schiedegg and take the train all the way back down to Lauterbrunnen.

Hubby and I enjoyed the hike (walk) up to Stubbach Waterfall. It did not take too much time since we were staying in Lauterbrunnen. We had a paraglide trip planned, but it was cancelled due to fog. It you want to paraglide, be flexible.

Thank you all for your tips. We are debating a few options now that we have done a bit more homework and would love anymore feedback. We think we'd love to go to the Schilthorn for the day and have reservations to paraglide - Wahoo !! WE plan to go to the top, Birg, Murren. Should we try to see Gimmelwald too? Anything anyone really loved there? Don't want to get sort of redundant in our itinerary if that makes sense as far as the types of locations. We may take the 4 mile walk back to Lauterbrunnen and then just stroll around there and find a place to eat. Does anyone have a favorite restaurant in Lauterbrunnen?
We are really interested in going to spend the day in the Interlaken area and Brienz. We're thinking about the Panorama trail, seeing the town of Interlaken, going to Brienz, the Giessbach Falls Trail, maybe eat on the balcony of the hotel (The Grand Hotel I think it's called?) that overlooks Lake Brienz, and seeing the wood carving shop. Is there anything else you recommend? Do you recommend the ferry ride ? The water is so beautiful there.
Thoughts on the Trummelbach falls? We are interested in it.
We've had suggestions of Wengen and Mannlichen. I have a wide variety of ages traveling and need to be aware that my older teens may not want to see every mountain top vista as insanely beautiful as they ALL are. I'm sure I could stare for hours at them all though. Can I get some more suggestions as well?

If you are going all the way to Brienz, consider visiting the Ballenberg Open Air Museum. Lots of cool old buildings and farm animals. I remember a wide variety or rabbits and a great beekeeping house with explanations. It's good for all ages and there should be some hands-on things the teens might enjoy.

We took the ferry over, then I think a bus to Ballenberg, and the train back. The ferry ride is pleasant.

I have to say on our 5 trips to that area we've never spent time in Interlaken so can't comment on that. My choice for that day would probably be to take the Gondola from Wengen to Mannlichen, walk to Klein Scheidegg, take the train down the other side to Grindlewald, take the Gondola up to First check out the top then on the halfway stop on the way back down get off and rent Trotti Bikes (you may have to arrange this at the bottom of the gondola). back down to Grindlewald.

My other thought is to rent bikes in Lauterbrunnen and bike the valley including a stop at trummelbach falls which I think are worthwhile.
