My family is traveling from Bern to Wengen. I would like to spend the day in Lauterbrunnen before heading to Wengen. Is there anyplace that we could safely store our luggage in Lauterbrunnen? If not what is the travel time between the two?
Wengen is a 5 minutes short ride up from Lauterbrunnen. If you are staying in Wengen you will have to get off or go through Lauterbrunnen anyway so why not leave your bag at your hotel in Wengen . Otherwise there are a few lockers at Lauterbrunnen.
Thank you, I didn't realize it was that close. Have you visited both the Trummelbach Falls and the Staubbbach Falls? I am trying to decide on one or the other. We are hikers so these would be a good warm up.
It is about 14 minutes up to Wengen from Lauterbrunnen, so a short trip. There are lockers at the Lauterbrunnen station as well as a left-luggage service during open hours.
Have you looked at the Berner Oberland Regional Pass? It usually makes sense in the area for your many train and gondola trips.
Meant to answer your falls question.
Staubbach Falls is a short walk for the train station, maybe 15 minutes. Trummelbach is about a 45 minute walk or to7 can ride the bus which is also included in the pass.
One of our favorite walks is to ride the bus to Stechelberg Hotel then walk back to Lauterbrunnen. You can detour to Trummelbach but I have to say I found that a “meh” experience and prefer to walk the valley, see the various falls and farms, and the walk goes to Staubbach then into Lauterbrunnen. Nice couple of hours.
Thanks for the information. I'll check into all the options mentioned.

You don't really have to decide. You will see Staubbachfallen from anywhere in the valley, including on the way to Trummelbachfallen. If you want a close up view, it's an easy walk from Lauterbrunnen.
I have been to Trummelbachfallen twice. I really enjoy it. Its weird to see a waterfall INSIDE a mountain. From Lauterbrunnen you can get there by the Postbus, but if its a nice day, the walk along the valley floor is spectacular. And don't walk along the main road, take the trail that runs a few hundred metres west of the main road, on the other side of the river. You'll be closer to the west face (Murren and Staubbachfallen side) and you walk by farmers fields. You can see the trail on Google Maps.
