Lausanne to Murren quickest way by train

What is the quickest/most efficent (least amount of stops) way to get from Lausanne to Murren by train? I will be traveling on August 5, 2019. Thank you

As Chris F posted in your Pontresina question,

Go to the SBB website: https://www.sbb.ch/en/
and enter Lugano to Pontresina for your desired date, and you can see the end-to-end times. You can also buy tickets there

Same case here...

In this case enter Lausanne to Mürren BLM (which is the train station as opposed to the gondola from Gimmelwald) for August 5, and you can see the end to end times and buy tickets.

In your case, wanting quickest rather than scenic, you will probably be routed either via Bern or Brig.

By "least amount of stops" I expect you mean fewest changes rather than the actual number of stations that the train stops at.

Any route to Mürren will have plenty of changes because Mürren is up in a difficult place to reach - that's what makes it so special.

I haven't looked, but I would expect a routing like Lausanne - Brig (or Visp) - Spiez - Interlaken Ost - Lauterbrunnen - Grütschalp - Mürren BLM. So that would be changing 5 times. I can't imagine a route with fewer.

If you were routed via Bern, I'd expect Lausanne - Bern - Interlaken Ost (or Bern - Spiez - Interlaken Ost if you miss the direct train to Interlaken and don't want to wait for the next one) Lauterbrunnen - Grütschalp - Mürren BLM. That would be 4 but slower.

Happy hunting - are you still going to Appenzell?

Thankyou for your quick response. I am coming rom Zermatt to Lausanne I thinking maybe I should go to another city besides Lausanne. I have one day between Zermatt and Murren where we are staying for 3 days. Yes we will be in Appenzell for two days

So what drew you to Lausanne - or put another way, if you go somewhere else instead, what will you be missing if you skip the town?

You don't say a lot about yourself and your like and dislikes, either in your profile or the other questions you posted, so it is difficult to know what to suggest.

I was following the suggested Rick Steeves itinerary. Doing more research I will still go to Lausanne then to Montreaux visit the Chateau de Chillon on the way and on to Murren via the Golden Pass. I usually go on arranged tours so this is a little new to me. As for likes we like to see all the tourist hotspots, we want to go visit the mountains and party some.
