Laundry in Murren

Do hotels in Murren usually have laundry facilities for the guests? Or is there a laundromat in Murren?

This was in 2012 so things may have changed - we used the little self-service laundry in the basement of Hotel Bellevue per Rick's book back then.

I've done that too, but mine also was some time ago...

I believe the closest option is now the Waschsalon in Lauterbrunnen. You could write to your hotel and ask, though.

The hotel I’m currently staying at, edelweiss murren, has both self service and laundry service.

Carrie, is there still laundry facilities "(WashSalon") at the former Hotel Bellevue - I think it's now Hotel Drei Berge?

That is helpful to know!

Carrie, that hotel used to have a banner outside of the hotel advertising the "wash salon" to the public. So I thought maybe you would have seen it as you wandered around. Keep having a great time!

I asked our host at Chalet Fontana and she said that the self-service laundry facility is still there at what is now the Drei Berge (formerly the Bellevue). You just check in at reception. They have all new machines.

I think she said 5 CHF per load.

Laundry at Drei Berge worked great. There were three washers and three dryers and everything was spic and span. Open 24/7. Buy tokens at the hotel reception (they don’t care if you are not staying at the hotel) with cash or credit card. 5F for wash and 5F for dry. Includes free laundry detergent (powder). Read instructions on far right side of wall carefully for help in knowing how to insert coins and activate machines. Dryer took a few cycles for me to get clothes fully dry but you are allowed 2 hours credit with the token, which was plenty of time to get fully dried. Have fun!
