We will be taking a lengthy trip in Europe in Fall 2025 and will be finishing our trip in Switzerland. Due to the length of the trip we will be using large roller duffel style bags. Will there be an issue checking these on the scenic trains like the Glacier or Bernina Express? Can we check bags rather than storing them by our seats? Are the services to ship bags ahead? Thx, Jim S.
I have done two scenic train trips with medium sized suitcases and I can't recall any kind of issue. I don't recall any kind of luggage service.
I did the Golden Pass route on a regular train and we did the Bernina Express on a panoramic train. I will say, that there were more people on the panoramic train, I don't recall empty seats. On the Golden Pass route on the "regular" train, there were empty seats here and there so more space.
We just did the Glacier Express in August and I don’t remember any option of “checking” bags. Our bags went with us and we placed them on racks as you enter the assigned car.
There are services to ship bags ahead, but there can be a 2 day delay. if you can live with that, check the website.

Personally, I'd just bring them with you. That is a non-issue.

You do not "check" bags on trains. You just carry them on the train with you and store them on the luggage racks. Either above yoru seat, at the car end, or below the seat./
