Lake Thun Day Cruise

We are planning for a day cruise on Lake Thun in June 2017. I am looking for suggestions on where to find that cruise information and what would be a good cruise to take. Thanks, Jean

The two lakes, Brienzersee (Lake Brienz in English) and Thunersee (Lake Thun) are both linked at Interlaken (named because it is between the lakes). They are both wide bits of glacial water in the River Aare - which goes on to Bern which accounts for why the river float there is so cold.

There are BLS boats (and only BLS boats for passenger service) on both lakes and usually one boat a day which does both lakes.

I have frequently used boats on both lakes, I prefer the antique steam paddlewheeler and I far prefer being on Brienzersee. I far prefer the scenery, I love the waterfall and ancient funicular (and walking in the woods there, and climbing the waterfall) at Gießbach, and Brienz and its woodcarvers and steam railway are unique.

Both lakes are visited by the boats zig zagging from Interlaken to Thun or Brienz, and then zig zag back.

Boats are frequent on both lakes. If you have additional questions I will do my best to help.

Thank you Nigel and Acran for your responses. I also received information from schiff@bls.ch after I email them. All this info has been very helpful.
