Hi,
My husband and I are traveling to Switzerland & Germany in August. We will be in Lake of Lucerne for 2 days. What would be the best recommendations of what to see while we are there and is it necessary to purchase tickets in advance or can we purchase them when we arrive for boat tours and tram to the top of the Alps. Thanks!

If I only had 2 days, I would make the boat/train ride to Mt. Rigi a priority. It is a favorite of mine and I have plans to do this for the 3rd time next year. If you have 2 full days, or nearly full days, I would select another mountain for the other day. Your mountain days can easily be combined with a morning or evening walk around the old town.
No need to purchase tickets in advance.
