LAKE Brienz boat schedule

Hello, we are in Lucern and will be traveling to Murren tomorrow. Since we can't check in until 4 we thought we might like to get off the train in Brienz and take a boat to Interlaken. However I cannot make sense of the schedule at all. Language difference is only part of my challenge with it. Can someone help me out with it. We would likely arrive in Brienze at either 10:33 or 11:33 on Saturday September 9th. By the way we are having such a lovely stay in Lucern and I highly recommend just a day to wander around. It is very walkable and charming! We opted to skip a boat cruise and just relax here to get over our jet lag

Do you have the SBB app? You can check boat times there. The boats have (see) after the location. So, you want Brienz (see) to Interlaken ost (see).

Enjoy the ride!! The water color is unbelievable!!!!

Camy J,

When you get off the train in Brienz the boat dock is less than three minutes away. You really can't miss it. The boat ride to Interlaken is very scenic and relaxing. I have taken it many times. Enjoy your trip.

enjoy one of my favourite train and boat rides. Sit on the right-hand side leaving Luzern. I would tend to go toward the ship's bow, and initially look towards the left as you approach Giessbach and its falls. Remember to duck as you pass under the railway bridge approaching Interlaken.

Thank you all for your quick replies! Carrie, I never ever heard about putting the word see in for the search after yhe city name. That made all the difference! I can't believe that I never heard that in all of my research. Now I can pull up an understandable boat schedule. Excited for this day!

It’s one of these oddities in the German language.
Lakes is “See” and sea is “Mer”.

Thanks again everyone for your help. You can't know how much I appreciated it. We made it to Murren without a hitch. The train schedules are so well coordinated and easy to ride. We decided to do Lake Brienze and the Rothern Brienz train another day as we will be here a week. MURREN is absolutely stunning! The constriction around the cable car station does not distract us at all. So excited to finally be here after 3 and a half years in the works.

If you end up taking the Rothern Brienz, I’d love to hear what you think. I can’t decide it I want it on my “must see” or “maybe” list for my June trip.
