Klosters anyone?

We are considering spending a few days hiking in the Klosters area in June. I don't see too much about it on any sites I've searched.

Have you been? What are your thoughts about it?

I've never hiked around there but have enjoyed visiting both Davos and Klosters areas, mostly by train and car. Happy hiking!!

Nigel, what did you think of the area overall? There are so many great areas of Switzerland that I am trying to get a feel for the area to see if it's what we like. Did it feel big, busy, or quieter? Anything you can add?

Thank you!

we were there late spring / early summer and it was very quiet. I am sure that it gets much busier in winter. Nice mountains around, quite bucolic, a place where we slowed down and chilled out. I can't recommend any hotels, we travelled in from further away, and spent about a week in the general area. It was some years ago but I'd be surprised if it changed much.

Do you need anyone to help carry your luggage? ;-)

I spent a few days in Klosters with my partner in the winter of 2020 at hotel Piz Buin. The hotel was amazing - incredible wellness area, with a good on-site restaurant (there didn't seem to be many restaurants outside of hotels), and our room had a simple kitchenette that we used once or twice.

We loved winter hiking in the valley to the east, a snowstorm started just as we were eating lunch at the Garfiun hut (delicious), heading back to the bus stop was a bit of an adventure and it will stay with us! I am sure that summer hiking is just as nice out there, and you could also use the various cable cars (Madrisa, Gotschna) if they operate during your stay.

Klosters is also well-positioned for day trips to the Engadine.
