This Jr Travelcard is on sale for 15 CHF. 'Anyone familiar with the Jr Travelcard? At first I thought it must be only for Swiss citizens, but I don't see that as a requirement.
The Junior Card acts just like the Free Swiss Family Card that you can get if you purchase a Swiss Travel Pass. Obviously if you don't purchase the pass you can't "get" the free Swiss Family Card - BUT you can "buy" a Junior Card which acts in the same way that a Swiss Family Card acts.
With the Junior Card the kid (6-16) can travel anywhere in Switzerland for free as long as they're with their parent who has a valid ticket.
There's also a Grandparent version of the Junior Card where the kids can travel free as long as they're with their grandparent who has a valid ticket.
Switzerland is a great place for kids.
There is no Swiss citizenship requirement for the Junion Card. But most visitors will choose the Family Card which is free (with an adult Swiss Pass or 1/2 Fare Card) and includes up to four children. With the Junior Card, each child needs his or her own. But the sale price of 15 CHF is much more attractive than the usual 30CHF.
