On the www.Jungfraujoch.ch site to book our seat reservation, we have an important question. For certain dates and times there is a long box, which often is completely filled with yellow.
When the box is completely filled with yellow, does that mean that all the seats are taken or does that mean that all the seats are open?
Thanks!
heather,
I don't recall getting a reservation for the Jungfraujoch, so have never dealt with that. At the change at Kleine Scheidegg, I just walked onto the Jungfraubahn train. Be prepared for standing on that trip as it may be crowded.
Be sure to check the weather before making that trip, as if the top is shrouded in fog and cloud, you won't see much.
When full, the yellow availability gauge means that all the seats are open to reserve. It shrinks as seats fill up. Seat reservations are not required so many people won't make them.
I would never want to book the Jungfraujoch in advance, because it is so weather-dependent and the weather can change fast up in the mountains. Since it's so expensive, you want to go only when the weather is good enough to make it worthwhile.
